Happy Holidays!

December is the month for (in chronological order)... Chanukah, Saturnalia, Winter Solstice, Festivus, Christmas, Boxing Day, Kwanzaa, and New Year's Eve. Why not look up the unfamiliar ones?

Happy Holidays, everyone!

Two Christmas Stations Serving The Palm Beaches

If you're looking for the Christmas spirit, check out the FM dial in the Palm Beach Market. No less than two stations have been playing Christmas music 24/7 for the season, since before Thanksgiving. (Both announced November 15th!)

  • "It's the most wonderful time of the year and Sunny 104.3 is now playing 100% Christmas music for the holidays" said WEAT-FM's Rick Shockley. "Wherever and whenever you listen, you'll hear all your favorite holiday hits anytime. And, remember, you can listen anytime right on your computer at sunny1043.com! So, start each day with Rick and Michelle and then listen to all your favorite holiday songs all day while you work!"
  • "KOOL 105.5" WOLL also announced it will have "all the great holiday songs you love to sing along with from now until Christmas."

WTPS RIP

In The Broward Times, executive editor Brad Bennett recently wrote about the black community's great loss from the sale of WTPS, as mentioned in last month's Radio News.

See Local black talk radio: a lost art.

Doc Reno & Courtney Young
Missing From "Big 105.9" WBGG

Doc Reno and Courtney Young are conspicuously absent from Big 105.9's air and web site. Is it that the old bugaboo of cost cutting?

More to come next month.

Get Your Music Heard @ American Idol Underground

"Classy 92.1" WRLX to Flip to Espanol

WRLX is scheduled to become "Mia 92.1" (My 92.1) next week, featuring contemporary Hispanic artists.

88.9FM and FIU Christmas Concert

WDNA presents a Christmas show for the whole family featuring singing sensation Brenda Alford with the FIU big band and strings, arranged and conducted by Sam Lussier, Tuesday, December 4th, 8pm, at the Coral Gables Congregational Church. Proceeds support Serious Jazz and FIU School of Music Scholarship Fund. Tickets are available at the box office and by calling (305) 662-8889.

Glenn Beck In Florida

Glenn Beck's nine-city 2007 Holiday Christmas Book Tour starts Saturday, December 1st in Orlando. Then it's on to Toledo! (Other cities on the Glenn Beck Tour are Richmond, San Francisco, Salt Lake City, Pittsburgh, Des Moines, Tulsa, and Charleston.)

What is the significance of starting on the 1st? Maybe it's because An Inconvenient Book: Real Solutions to the World's Biggest Problems is #1 in Book Sales at Amazon.com and #1 on the NY Times List. Please use this link if you plan to buy a copy!

Talkers versus CAIR and Terrorists

"I've shopped at my last Office Max, because Office Max caved in to the Council on American-Islamic Relations" said an indignant Neal Boortz on his syndicated Cox show (no longer heard in this market) earlier this month.

The wusses at Office Max had cancelled their advertising on Savage Nation in response to CAIR's propaganda campaign after Michael Savage's outspoken statements about Muslim extremists.

CAIR spokesman Ibrahim Hooper is an outspoken advocate of subjecting the US to Islamic Law. Or, as Anti-CAIR succinctly states it, "Let there be no doubt that the Council on American-Islamic Relations is a terrorist supporting front organization that is partially funded by terrorists, and that CAIR wishes nothing more than the implementation of Sharia Law in America." Evidently that's OK with the folks at Office Max, so I won't be shopping there either.

Michael Savage is now suing CAIR for their unauthorized misuse of portions of his program for their fund-raising campaigns. See Michael Savage vs. CAIR.

Savage is heard from 5 'til 9 PM weekdays on WFTL 850.
